Prior to founding Ardent, Charles was a partner with HIG Capital, LLC and Boyne Capital Partners. His experience at HIG Capital spans the firm’s early history through its emergence as a preeminent middle market private equity fund. He has over twenty years of experience in structuring and leading recapitalizations of privately held businesses, corporate divestitures and restructurings.

Charles began his career advising pioneers of small cap private investing on acquisitions, divestitures and financings while at Kidder Peabody & Co. in New York and as an energy services analyst with Howard Weil in New Orleans. Early work experience includes stints in the offshore oil fields of the Gulf of Mexico and as a Luce Scholar in Taipei, Taiwan. His industry expertise includes business services, consumer goods and services, multi-unit retail, publishing, industrial supplies, wholesale distribution, energy services, agri-business, component manufacturing and building products.
Education & Interests
Charles earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Management with honors from Tulane University. He speaks fluent Spanish and basic Mandarin Chinese. His outside interests include fishing, travel, history, and exploring remote areas of the Everglades and Bahamas. He grew up in south Louisiana and has lived in Miami for over 25 years. Charles serves on the board of Bushlife Conservancy, a charitable organization dedicated to protecting endangered species—including elephants, pangolins, and painted dogs—from poaching in Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools and Zambezi Valley regions.
Victor was previously an Associate at Aterian Investment Partners, a $2 billion middle-market private equity firm. At Aterian, he focused on due diligence and underwriting for both platform and add-on investments across a range of industries, in addition to supporting general portfolio management activities.

Victor began his career as an investment banking analyst at Solomon Partners, where he concentrated on Mergers & Acquisitions. His transaction experience spans several sectors, including business services, laboratory equipment manufacturing, consumer products, distribution and logistics, and upstream oil & gas.
Education & Interests
Victor graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. He’s conversational in Mandarin and attempts to maintain his Duolingo Spanish streak. Originally from Houston, TX, he relocated to Miami, FL in 2021. Outside of work, Victor enjoys experimenting with recipes on his Traeger grill, strength training, fishing, and snorkeling at the beach.
